A FEW NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS

Played a pivotal role in rejuvenating the vital force and significance of Madhya Pradesh’s art of Sculpture.

 

Spearheaded the move to establish at that time non-existent Sculpture Department in Gwalior Art College and then encouraged, in all possible ways, to several painters and other art students to devote their skills towards the sculpture art.

 

Provided guidance and manual demonstration to sculptors – art students, painters, architects and engineers, so that they may carry on in this particular art field.

 

Collected various artifacts for Festival of India, Japan from North-East India.

 

  Was commissioned to execute the massive task of interior decoration for numerous government, non-government institutions including that of the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi, Raj Bhawan Bhopal, The building of the Reserve Bank of India, Bhopal,State Bank of Indore at Indore,and Bhopal, Proctal and Gamble, Bhopal, Palm Grove Club, Bhopal and for many other private establishments.

 

Was a jury member for several art competitions and was assigned the responsibility of a commissioner for organizing the exhibitions based on the Indian Modern Art.

Remained associated with Bharat Bhawan a multi art complex for nearly  20 years and by working there in various capacities, played a major part in establishing its international reputation

 

Apart from pursuing the goals as a sculptor, devoted many years as a theatre-person by playing leading roles in several plays directed by the famous drama directors of our times.

 

Carried out the task of stage-designing for various plays. Have been honored with the nominations and worked successfully as an adviser, consultant and member of various executive boards related with art or non artistic activities.
