2020 Taiwan International Installation Art Exhibition of Wood Sculpture

2020 Taiwan International Installation Art Exhibition of Wood Sculpture, curated by ISSA associate member Chiu Tai-Yang, will be on show at Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum from July 28 to October 25.

The curatorial direction this year takes inspiration from installation art, creating "the casual state of art, and the artistic state of life". Through the interrelation between art and space, the exhibition is transformed into an experience. Parting ways from the perceived notions, the exhibition is able to better express, explore and understand the art of wood sculpting.

In addition to the selected works, 6 sculptors, domestic and international, are invited to be on-site-working artists at the museum. Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum is a place where creative impulses and a myriad of personal experiences converge. The curator looks forward to the conversations between the viewers and the artworks, and encourages the viewers to compare their internal state to the artworks, project the image of self onto specific pieces, or experience the various states of life in the abstract forms.

The on-site-working artists are Martyn Barratt from UK, Atsushi Yoshida, and Abe Nyubo from Japan, Chen, Cheng-Chung, Sapod Kacaw, and Iyo Kacaw from Taiwan.
