ISSA Ukraine\Sculpture says no to war

The 10th International Sculpture Symposium "Carpathian"(ISSA Ukraine) ,   was held in the resort "Kvitka Polonyny" in the western Ukrainian border village Solochin. The Symposium brought hope to the people of Ukraine in the midst of war and showed the world the power of sculpture.

The sculpture Symposium was started in 2014 as part of the Carpathian Cultural Route tourism project, aimed at creating new cultural and tourist landmarks in the Carpathian region. Thus the first sculpture creation camp was launched that year.

In 2022, the 10th Symposium was held in an incredible atmospheric field. This sculpture symposium was extraordinary, and we all understand why. Even under such circumstances, more sculptors participated this year than in previous, and 10 sculptors created a total of 11 sculptures. The sculptors were mostly from Ukraine, but were joined by Polish and Hungarian artists.

Unlike in the past, this sculpture symposium was significant: "the emotions we have all experienced since February 24, 2022. These sculptures incredibly convey all the feelings - pain, sadness, struggle, gratitude, optimism.”
