ISSA New Member \ Sculpture Gallery at the bottom of the Aegean Sea

Recently, six sculpture symposiums joined the International Sculpture Symposium Alliance (ISSA), including the Turkish Aegean city of GOMEC, which sinks artists' completed sculptures at the bottom of the Aegean Sea to become a submarine sculpture gallery.

The symposium, which has been held for two years now, has seen the completion of works by about 20 international sculptors. The material used is marble from Marmara, and each sculpture is about 3 cubic meters. According to the director of the symposium, Hakan Sengonul, this is a 15-year project, and in the future there will be 150 sculptures displayed at the bottom of the Aegean Sea.
