Bhubaneswar. Odisha International Sculpture Symposium

ODISHA International Sculpture Symposium 2022 was organized it’s first and foremost International Sculpture Symposium by inviting 16 sculptors from 6 countries to conceptualize their dreams in stone and scrap Iron assemblage during this memorable event along with 16 Young sculpture students  from some reputed Art Institutions / universities to assist at work.   

  The Symposium was taken place at KALABHUMI premises at the heart of Bhubaneswar, the capital city of the Indian state of Odisha. Symposium was dreamt by Odisha Lalit Kala Academy collaborating with  BMC, OMC and STAMP. The utmost aim of the organizer for the promotion of “ FIH ODISHA Hockey World Cup “ in the host city Bhubaneswar,  as well as promoting the tourism keeping the visual aesthetical beautification and education around the city in mind.                         

  Adding with some more essence to the purpose to showcase the temple city “Bhubaneswar”, lavishly adorned with it’s ancient architectural fragrance as well as for it’s rich stone sculptural tradition. Historically it is a confluence of Buddhist , Jaina and Hindu archeological heritage boasting of some of the finest Kalingan temples, exemplifying the world famous sun temple Konark , Puri, caves and engraved edicts at  Khandagiri , Udayagiri and Dhauli, the sites professed with its artistic carvings date back to the 2nd century BCE.
