ISSA Delegation Meets Bolivia’s Vice Minister of Culture and Confers Honorary Membership

Recently, a delegation from the International Sculpture Symposium Alliance (ISSA) held an official meeting with

 Vice Minister of Culture Andrés D. Zaratti Chevarría at the Ministry of Culture building in La Paz, Bolivia, during 

which he was awarded honorary membership of the Alliance.

The ISSA delegation included Secretary-General Liu Yang, ISSA Bolivia Commissioner Luis Fernando Chumacero 

Gutierrez, Bolivian sculptor Sulma Barrientos Sanchez, and accompanying interpreter and sculptor Icla de 

Fátima Aranda Castro. The four-member delegation met with Vice Minister Zaratti Chevarría at the Ministry’s 

headquarters in the Bolivian capital.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the development of ISSA in recent years, sculpture activities 

in Tupiza, the completion of Chinese sculpture projects in Bolivia, and future cultural exchanges between 

Bolivia and China in the field of sculpture.

At the conclusion of the meeting, in recognition of Vice Minister Zaratti Chevarría’s contributions to the 

development of sculpture in Bolivia and his leadership in the cultural sector, ISSA conferred upon him 

the title of Honorary Commissioner.
