ISSA Nantou / Making Wood Sculptures in the Home of the Mountains

The 2026 Unplugged Wood Sculpture Retreat, also known as the ISSA Nantou Station, will be held from July 24 to 

27 in Nantou, Taiwan.

With the concept of “Home Retreat,” this event hopes to create a creative space that feels as warm, relaxed, and 

welcoming as home. Over four days and three nights, there will be no competition and no intensive courses. Instead, 

participants will slow down, create together, live together, and share together—finding inspiration through exchange 

and building sincere encounters through companionship.

We believe that the most precious thing is not merely completing a work of art, but leaving in one another’s lives 

a period of time worth remembering.

As creators, we often spend a great deal of time facing our works alone and walking through the everyday journey 

of creation by ourselves. Yet what truly supports creators in continuing forward is often not how many works they 

have completed, but the people along the way who are willing to share and accompany one another.
