ISSA Portugal: Rio Maior Sculpture Symposium

December 15 concluded the first ever Rio Maior Sculpture Symposium. In a span of fifteen days, the symposium was held in Rio Maior, west-central Portugal as part of the Christmas celebration. The symposium was attended by three artists, representing China, France, and Portugal. The finished sculptures was installed and exhibited at the public park in the city center.

During the closing ceremony, Liu Yang, the secretary-general of ISSA presented the mayor of Rio Maior the certificate of honor, thanking his contribution to the symposium. The milk white granite provided for the sculptors were sourced locally in Rio Maior. And the organizer of the symposium was Thierry Ferreira, sculptor and installation artist.
