ISSA Japan: Sculpting Under Cherry Blossoms

Yukuhashi Artworks Object Project Sculpture Symposium was held from February 16 to 28 in the city of Yukuhashi, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Five sculpture participated in the symposium, they were Anna Korver (New Zealand), Hiroshi Hayashi (Japan), Oscar Aguirre Comendador (Cuba), Petre Petrov (Bulgaria), Samia Monsef (Egypt).  Japan was one of the few countries holding symposiums during the pandemic. During the opening ceremony, the locals sent prayers to those who were affected by the virus.


Sculptures created for the symposium are installed in public. The designated installation locations this year are Yukuhashi Station, Imagawa Elementary School, Nakata Middle School and Ohara Hospital.
