ISSA Secretary-General Meets with the Ambassador of Oman, Kickstarting the China-Oman Sculpture Exhibition

Recently, Nasser bin Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Busaidi, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to China, and Liu Yang, secretary-general of the International Sculpture Symposium Alliance (ISSA), held a meeting and initiated the China-Oman Sculpture Exhibition. The exhibition, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and ISSA, is an important project of the the China-Oman Digital Youth Cultural Week scheduled to take place from December 13th to 16th this year.


At the meeting, Ambassador al-Busaidi emphasized the friendship between China and Oman and displayed artworks exchanged between the two countries during the Ming Dynasty. The secretary-general of ISSA gave an introduction to the exhibition and thanked the embassy for its support. At the end of the meeting, ISSA gifted the Ambassador calligraphy works of Liu Qin.


A part of the exhibition is managed domestically by ISSA member "Sohar House" in Oman. The exhibition will display sculptures by more than 50 artists from the two countries. Due to the impact of COVID, the exhibition will first be available for viewing online. Physical exhibitions will follow suit in both countries as the travel restriction loosens.
