ISSA Italy\The 26th International Stone Sculpture Symposium from Friuli Venezia Giulia

The 26th International Stone Sculpture Symposium from Friuli Venezia Giulia ended on Sunday 17 September 2023 at the Vergnacco Sculpture Park (Reana del Rojale) Italy - as always promoted and organized by the "Il Faro" Cultural Club chaired by Roberto Cossettini - with the presentation of eight new sculptures, to which an additional work was added: the "red" bench, on red root marble from Verzegnis, with a message of hope for the future of women.

Present were the Vice President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region Mario Anzil, the Mayor of Reana del Rojale Anna Zossi and the representatives of the Municipalities that sponsored the 2023 event, Councilor Raffaella Zilli of Gemona del Friuli, Mayor Alan Cecutti of Taipana, the Mayor Giuliano Castenetto of Povoletto.

Comparison, awareness, respect for the environment and life are the themes that emerge from the works that the artists have created. SOLMAZ VILKACHI from IRAN created “DispersƏ”, MICHAEL LEVCHENKO from UKRAINE presented “Looking at the sky”, ITAHISA PEREZ CONESA from SPAIN sculpted “The comfort of the environment”, STEFANO SABETTA from Lazio titled his work “Growing ”, ELISAVETA SIVAS from ESTONIA presented us with “I Know”, ZDRAVKO ZORAVKOV from BULGARIA created “Connection”, ZHAO LI from CHINA sculpted “Day and Night” and finally FRANCESCO PAGLIALUNGA from Puglia created the work “Tensions”.

There was a large audience and authorities present at the ceremony in the park and also in recent days, and future exchanges with the Forma Viva Symposium in Portorose in October and the Milano Durini Design Association were also important. The visit of the students of the Reana del Rojale School was significant, who together with the teachers, in the first days of school, got to know the artists and their sculptures, taking advantage of a unique opportunity for them.

After the conclusion of the Symposium, the works will remain on display for a few months at the Vergnacco Park, where the public will be able to admire them and appreciate the creativity of artists from all over the world.
