The 2nd Tashkent International Sculpture Symposium, and ISSA Uzbekistan was officially held from August
31st to September 29th in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The event was jointly organized by the Union
of Artists of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of
the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Artists from 36 countries presented more than 150 projects on ecology, nature conservation and
the environment, including the tragedy of the Aral Sea and its revival. In the end, 10 foreign and
11 Uzbek sculptors were selected for the event.
As a part of the Sculpture Symposium, in the conference hall of the Union of Artists of Uzbekistan,
、the foreign sculptors presented their works to the audience, talked about the art projects and
answered questions. And the international artists visited the ancient cities of Tashkent and Samarkand.
In the future, the sculptures will be installed at the new International Ecological University in Tashkent.
