The 2nd China - Hebei Academy of Fine Arts International Campus Public Art Symposium, and ISSA Hebei,
was held from September 5 to October 15 in Xinle City, Hebei, China. Filin Gheorghi from Italy and
Choe Sodong from South Korea, together with student volunteers from the School of Public Art and
assistants from Hebei Xinte Landscape Architecture and Sculpture Company, completed two giant stone
sculptures with a maximum dimension of ten meters.
This event not only improved the landscape of the campus, but also introduced students to high level
educational resources and allowed them to get out of the classroom and into the program to get exercise.
This is not only artistic creation, but also educational exploration and reform. The event aims to promote
teaching, strengthen international exchanges and enhance academic standards.
At the closing ceremony of the event, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts held the first International Sculpture
and Public Art Education and Teaching Symposium, Zhen Zhongyi, Yu Huayun, Huang Xingguo,
Choe Sodong (South Korea), and Zhen Yare delivered speeches, and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts executive
vice-president Zhang Jianmin and the Alliance's secretary-general, Liu Yang, unveiled the plaque for
the International Sculpture Symposium Alliance (ISSA) Hebei Station, and the experts in sculpture and
public art from home and abroad. Sculpture and public art experts from home and abroad launched
an in-depth discussion on education and teaching innovation. The experts and scholars at the meeting
had an in-depth discussion on the topics of public art education, art creation and social practice.
