The third Al Kadra International Sculpture Symposium, and ISSA Oman, came to an end in Oman in mid-January.
The event was organized by the Al Kadra team, the Alliance 's branch in Oman, under the supervision of
Youssef Al Rawahy and Abdul Karim Al Rawahy, and supervised by the Governor's Office of the North Eastern
Province, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and with the support of the Omani
Ministry of Agriculture and private institutions, as well as the people of the region. Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi,
Oman's Minister of Agriculture, presented certificates to the sculptors at the closing ceremony.
Artists participating in this 3rd International Sculpture Symposium came from Russia, Spain, Argentina, Iran,
India, Iraq, Egypt, Poland, Macedonia, Tunisia, and from the Sultanate of Oman. A total of 14 works of art were
completed in this session, through which the sculptors will leave a part of the memory associated with this
place for many years.
The idea of inviting the sculptors to the Sultanate's land is to highlight the tourist and cultural destination and
to export authentic Omani principles and values in line with the goals of the Omani Vision 2040, including
a humane and creative society, as well as to introduce the outside world to Oman's rich historical and cultural
elements and richness.
The organizers hope to establish, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, a museum of contemporary
sculpture that will be a unique landmark in the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting and serving as a global tourist
landmark and cultural crossroads.
