During International Sculpture Symposium Alliance (ISSA) 2025 international sculptor certification, sculptor
Liu Yang from China became the world's first sculpture built in 40 countries and regions artist in August 2024,
after the completion of his sculpture "Syr Darya" in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and this sculpture has become
a landmark of the city, as well as a part of cultural history. The basic principle of the certification is large-scale
public permanence. Although the ISSA certification is only a statistical collation of sculptures and does not
involve the evaluation of artistic standards, it is undoubtedly a great achievement to be recognized by the
governments of 40 countries and welcomed by the people.
By the end of 2024, Liu Yang's sculptures have spread to 41 countries and regions, and what's more incredible
is that he completed them in 14 years. It is in the form of the International Sculpture Symposium that he has
been able to accomplish such a high frequency of transnational collaboration and public art practice.
Liu Yang's sculpture is located in the Winter Olympic Park in Beijing, Dubai historical and cultural center, as well as
Cairo, Munich, Riyadh, Mexico City and other first-tier metropolises, the other construction of more in
the renewal of some emerging markets. This is also the characteristics of the international symposium,
compared to the deep cultural deposits, international art financial transactions mature metropolis, emerging
cities or historical cities during economic development, are more dependent on such art and cultural exchanges
in the way of urban construction, tourism development and international development.
At present Liu Yang more than 100 pieces of sculpture in the countries and regions including: Europe, Russia,
France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania,
Spain; Asia, China, Japan, Turkey, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Taiwan,
China, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Oman; Egypt and Tunisia in Africa; Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and
Honduras in North and Central America; Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia in South America; and Australia in
Australia. In 2025, invitations from Iraq, the Czech Republic, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bolivia will
continue to expand his sculptural landscape.
In addition to Liu Yang's sole certification as ISSA 4+ International Sculptor, the number of Alliance 3+ sculptors
has reached nine. With five countries as the minimum certification requirement, a total of 200 people from 58
countries have been certified as ISSA International Sculptors, which is a group of experienced, artistically excellent
and creatively active sculptors with the most international influence.
