ISSA India \ Turning a University into a Sculpture Park

The 5th ITM sculptors Symposium was organized by ITM (SLS)University Vadodra from 1st January to 30 January 2025.

 More than 100 sculptures over the past 10 years have transformed the university campus into an open-air sculpture

 museum.


10 international sculptors participated in this Symposium sculptors are: Chris Peterson, Netherlands, Lorena Olivares , 

Chile, Yasushi Hori, Japan and Bhupesh Kavadia, Pankaj Gehlot, Anil Kumar, Robin David and Cyrus Panuganti from 

Vadodra India.

Material used in the symposium was stone brought from Makrana/Bhaislan and red sandstone from Bansi Pahadpur 

Rajasthan India. To help the sculptors in the symposium, 40 assistants were invited from Makrana.


The closing ceremony of the symposium was organized on 29 January 2025. The chief guest of the event was 

renowned poet and critic Mr Udyan Vajpai and well-known art critic from Delhi  Mr Jhony ML was also present.

The guests and spectators present in the event heartily praised the huge size of sculptures made in the symposium. 

Now comes the day of farewell of all the sculptors which is the time to break the intimate relations formed by 

working and living together in the last tow months. Everyone thanked each other and bid farewell by giving their 

hearts.
