National Symphony Orchestra, dozens of media reports: Algerian Minister of Culture becomes an honorary member of ISSA

May 8, 2025, on the anniversary of Algeria's national day, the closing ceremony of the first International Sculpture 

Symposium was held. Liu Yang, Secretary General of ISSA, presented the certificate of membership to Taher Hedhoud,

 representative of the Algerian Sculpture Symposium, making Algeria the 61st member of ISSA and the 

144th Sculpture Symposium. 

He also presented an honorary membership certificate to Mr. Zouhier Balalou, the Minister of Culture and Arts of

the country, in appreciation of his efforts to support the art of sculpture and to promote the emergence of Algerian 

artists on the international scene. The Minister also stated that the Sculpture Symposium would be organized 

annually in the future.

The official website of the Ministry of Culture recognized the significance of the Alliance's certificate to the Minister, 

while dozens of media outlets covered the event. The evening's event was also attended by representatives of the 

Minister of Energy and Mines, the General Manager of Sonarim, the Governor of the Bezralda administrative district, 

ambassadors of several participating countries, artistic and cultural personalities, as well as teachers and students 

of the National Academy of Fine Arts. 

During the ceremony, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Algerian Opera presented national-level 

musical performances.
