ISSA Czech/ Metal Sculpture for Škoda Automobile City

The 12th Mladá International Sculpture Symposium and ISSA Czech Republic was held from June 9 to 13 in 

Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. Artists from China, Bulgaria, Italy and their own countries attended the event, 

with Chinese artists invited for the first time. The city is mainly known for its Škoda cars. 


The event started in 2013, with metal sculptures originally and slowly added wood carvings and public paintings, 

and over the past 12 years the Sculpture Symposium has left 50 sculptures from 30 different countries and five 

different continents in the city. Most of the sculptures are placed at various points in the city.


The city where the sculptures are placed, Mladá Boleslav, is located in the Czech Republic, 45 kilometers east of 

Prague. The city is mainly known for the heritage of Škoda automobiles and its manufacturing industry since 1895.
