Sculpture by ISSA Oman Committee Member Printed on Oman 1 Rial Banknote, Officially Circulated on 11 January

The monumental sculpture created by Dr. Ali Al Jabri, sculptor and ISSA Oman Committee Member, 

to unveil the OQ8 Duqm Refinery, has been featured on the 1 Rial commemorative banknote.

The Central Bank of Oman announced the issuance of this commemorative banknote, which will be 

put into circulation starting from 11 January 2026.

The Omani Rial is freely convertible and has remained stable at an exchange rate of 1 Omani Rial = 

2.6 US Dollars.

Omani Rial banknote denominations include 50, 20, 10, 5, and 1 Omani Rials, as well as 500, 250, 200, 

and 100 Baisa coins. The new issue is limited exclusively to the 1 Rial banknote.
