Introduction

Arun Mascarenhas is a trained Sculptor,  Designer, and Academician having expertise in Drawing and Sculpture. An exemplary learner, he pursued his Post Graduation in Sculpture (Master of Fine Arts) from the College of Art, New Delhi (University of Delhi), and Graduation in Sculpture (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from Chamarajendra Govt. College of Visual Arts, formerly CAVA, Mysuru (University of Mysore). He had the privilege of being awarded a Gold Medal for his academic excellence and intellectual efforts. He qualified National Eligibility Test for lectureship in Visual Arts from the University Grants Commission, India, and is a Doctoral research scholar at IDC School of Design IIT Bombay.

Arun Mascarenhas started his professional career in 2009 as a 'Handmade Toy Designer' at Iseo Chemdis Pvt. Ltd, Gurugram, India. He was offered to work as visiting faculty in the Dept. of Sculpture, College of Art, New Delhi, for a brief period, before being taken to practice teaching full time. Since then, he has served in different capacities at KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology), and IITH (Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad) before joining IDC School of Design at IIT Bombay in 2018. Currently, he is designated as an Assistant Professor in Communication Design.

Arun Mascarenhas has worked for Internationally renowned Artists/Projects and has commissioned Art and Design Projects as an independent practitioner. As a practicing Artist, he has been exhibiting his artworks and partakes in Art workshops and Symposia. His works are in private collections and public organizations.
